Freedom & Guitar
The Mermaid and Guitar is inspired by the dot and cross hatch style painting found in the Northern Territory of Australian. It is from the Darwin Mermaid Series painted in 1999 after moving from Sydney to the N.T. This image is used on the cover of Freedom's 'Songs of the Sun' Album.
"The Mermaid symbolizes the truth seeker of my inner self. I call her the Soul Diver. She dives deep into the darkness of the self to find her limits and truth. What she finds is an eternal and unlimited consciousness, as vast as the universe.
As in all shamanic journeys, the soul diver returns with a message from the other side.
In the eye of awareness, in my art, music and song, this is the journey."

"The goats scull I picked up on a road trip in the desert gold country of Western Australia. It travelled all around the country back to the East coast on the front the vans bull bar. The ornate rusty steel is from an old fan. The Butterfly came from a broken toy, enhanced using photoshop.
It is the symbolism of the death and rebirth."
